In the present study N'-benzylidene-4-(2, 5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-1-yl) benzohydrazides have been synthesized in good yields and characterized by IR, PMR and mass spectral analysis. Compounds were evaluated for their preliminary in-vitro cytotoxic activity against HeLa cancer cell lines by standard MTT assay and also were screened for antibacterial activity by cup plate method. Our results show that two of the analogues Vc and Vf are potent cytotoxic agents against all the tumor cell lines and antibacterial agents.
